Heartbroken. Speechless. Disbelieving. This is how I feel—and how friends in my community told me they feel—in the wake of the string of shootings in Baton Rouge, Falcon Heights, and Dallas over the last week. We're coping, yet again, with the implications of violence in our society. The Detroit-based artist and activist Adrienne Maree Brown says, "Things are not getting worse, they are getting uncovered. We must hold each other tight and continue to pull back the veil." As we pull back the veil every kind of action is needed: grieving, healing, self-educating about racism, organizing, direct action. I found the Washington Post article "This is what white people can do to support #BlackLivesMatter" particularly helpful, and I hope you continue to share resources that resonate with you, too. Because we're all accountable. Enough is enough. #blacklivesmatter
